Sleepless nights, drooping eyes, tired brain, excruciating study-hours, frequent tea taking at nights and what not. The fifth semester exams were unprecedentedly harrowing.
The usual thing that happens every semester is that, certain part of the syllabi (30 - 50% of the portions, probably) would be left untouched. So, Self study.(Though this should not be a worry, but since we've been spoon fed from the start, it's pretty elusive now, to do self study). The trend continued. But the reason is still obscure, why this semester exam was more torturous than the previous.
To add fuel to fire, performance in the exams was also dismal and dispiriting (I feel so). Our ‘efforts’(as I prefer to call), went in vain. Designating, the last minute study, as EFFORT, is pretty ludicrous. But still effort is effort. It has gone futile.
Things must change. Life needs a renovation. (Too much ah!!) The syllabi and teaching has to be more pragmatic. The first thing is I (we) must change. Last minute study is grievous (as elders say, which we don adhere to. And may be never going to). The next thing is, rules in cols got to get stringent. The syllabi has to be completed within the stipulated period. It must be ensured that, before the ingress of semester exams, one must have got an idea of the whole syllabi, which, in assurance, is going to reduce the onus on him/her on the eve of the examination.
Let’s hope for something positive and be optimistic in the following semester. (Resolutions are often taken following a battering, but are seldom followed.)
